Due to the success of previous projects for Sony Music, Popstore were approach to open a two-week Pop Up Store for The Clash, celebrating the re-mastering of ‘Hits Back’ & the release of the Sound System Box Set. Black Market Clash opened in the heart of the music scene on Berwick Street, London. Set on two floors, the basement housed a rare exhibition of Clash memorabilia, curated by Robert Gordon McHarg III; along with a Fender ‘Plug and Play Demo Station’. The ground floor offered sound booths, further band memorabilia, artwork by band member, Mick Jones, and the retail store. The store sold limited edition merchandise including CD’s, vinyls and signed posters, along with t-shirts, books and accessories. Pop Store undertook the sourcing of a store location, lease negotiation, design and build of the shop fit and the day to day running of the store.
