Pop Up Store

Location

Carnaby Street, London UK

Year

March 2013

Our long-standing relationship with Sony Music created the first ever Jimi Hendrix pop-up store, celebrating the release of ‘People Hell and Angels’.

The pop-up store was a stone’s throw away from many of the legendary venues synonymous with Jimi Hendrix’s time in London including: Bag O’ Nails, Ronnie Scott’s and Marquee Club. In keeping with the setting and Jimi’s legacy, the store had an urban yet warm feel, letting ‘the Mans’ stage wear, vinyls and artwork take centre stage.

Pop Store undertook the sourcing of a store location, negotiated the lease, designed and managed the shop fit of the store and the day to day running of the pop up store.

The store sold a limited collection of Jimi Hendix merchandise in addition to hosting a Gered Mankowitz photography exhibition and signings from his daughter, Janie Hendrix. A Fender ‘Plug and Play Demo Station’ was created in the basement where customers could learn how to play like Hendrix.
